The park of Monsters of Bomarzo (not far from Viterbo and Orvieto) was designed by the architect Pirro Ligorio in 1552 on commision of Prince Pier Francesco Orsini, who wanted to create a sort of garden of wonders: in fact this park is the only one of it's kind in the world. A visit to the park consists in a series of stages ranging between mythology and fantasy. The big head has an open mouth where you can find a table and benches to eat your lunch!
